Vodafone and Airtel announce new BBM plans

Vodafone and Airtel have announced new plans for RIM’s BlackBerry Messenger Service. Both the telecom operators tout an Rs 129 per month plan for unlimited BBM services on postpaid connections, but Airtel’s plan will also provide users additional 300 national SMSs free of cost. In addition to the Rs 129 per month plan, Vodafone has announced an Rs 5 per day plan for its prepaid customers enabling them unlimited BBM access through out a day. Vodafone has also announced that subscribers, who purchase the BlackBerry Curve 8520 and BlackBerry Curve 9300 by the end of February 2012, will avail unlimited BBM services for a year from the date of purchase.
