Acer’s Adorable 7 Inch Iconia Tab A100 Arrives in U.S. Stores

Acer’s little seven inch Iconia Tab A100 Android tablet — the first seven inch tablet to be released with Honeycomb — arrives in U.S. stores today, and it’s just precious. The little fellow has a 1-GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core chip, two cameras — 5MP rear and 2MP front — a seven inch screen and comes in two flavors, 8GB ($329.99) and 16GB ($349.99). The memory on both can be expanded to 36GB with a MicroSD card.

This is also the first tablet in the U.S. to be released with Honeycomb 3.2, which includes new features such as their “Zoom Mode” which will automatically optimize non-tablet apps for larger tablet screens. Nifty! The folks at PC Magazine gave the tablet high marks, only knocking it for its battery life and bloatware (I wonder if the little fellow can be rooted in order to remove said bloatware). As for the battery life, PC Magazine said they got about four hours of usage before it died, which is small compared to the eight hours of the Blackberry Playbook or the six hours of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Regardless, this puts a lot of computing power into a sexy little package.
